Summer 1999

Another motorcycle trip, this one a quickie to the west coast and back.  No Florida or Alaska this time around.

A couple of years ago, some friends gave me a book about two-lane American highways. My curiosity  turned to Route 50, "the loneliest highway in America" from Virginia to California, and Route 20, which runs from Oregon to Massachusetts.  This trip will concentrate on those roads, with occasional detours.

The overall plan is: 11-12 days to the coast, 11-12 days there, and 11-12 days coming back.  The Harley, however, doesn't pay much attention to overall plans, so we'll see.

Before we begin, roll some credits.

June 27 - July 3 --- On the road again

July 4 - July 10 --- California Dreamin'

July 11 - July 17 --- Pacific NorthWet ?

July 18 - July 24 --- Go East, old man

July 25 - July 29  -- Homeward bound

Last chance for gas for the next Hit Counter miles.  A very lonely highway.
